The Andover Chess Club was founded in January 2015 by Mike Henroid and Xiaolin Jiang to provide a club for players in the Merrimack Valley and surrounding areas the opportunity to learn and play chess.  Beginning with the 2019-2020 season, the club is coordinated by Melissa Thatcher and International Master, David Vigorito.

• The club is open to players of all abilities in grades K through 8th.

• The club runs casual games, as well as monthly quick chess quad tournaments. Special events like Master Simuls, blitz chess and rated tournaments are also offered.   

• The ACC is an affiliate member of the United States Chess Federation (USCF).

• The ACC meets Friday evenings at 7pm in St. Rita's Hall (basement of St. Augustine's Church), located at 35 Essex Street, Andover, MA 

• Annual membership fee $30 per individual, $40 per family, which fee goes toward the cost of tournament trophies, website expenses, and space donation.

• St. Augustine's Church kindly allows the ACC to use its facilities at no charge.  In appreciation, at the end of each season the ACC makes a donation from remaining ACC funds to the Church to defray its costs.
